Research Interests

The major research interest of the group is directed towards application of enzymes and microorganisms in organic synthesis and biotechnology.
Current interest include application of enzymatic procedure for synthesis of chiral peptidomimetics. For the synthesis of target compounds multicomponent reaction were used. Enzymes required for these studies were prepared using standard procedures.
Special attention has beed devoted towards chemical functionalization of enzymes. In many cases, modification of enzymes led to substantial increase of enzymes reactivity and/or stability. Functionalization of enzymes alters their chemical reactivity, what resulted in new type of catalysts.

Research activity of the team is also related to R & D programs for pharmaceutical industry.
