It is the goal of this project to face up to our self-inflicted problems and provide means to create methods for generating greener production of chemicals and degradation of organic compounds. Although these two ideas seem contradictory, a chemist sees them as complex reactions that require a steadfast determination to succeed. How can we stand toe to toe with such a mammoth problem?

We believe that vitamin B12 is an ideal catalyst candidate for devising such methods. Hence, we will develop catalytic systems that mimic enzymes’ characteristics by combining the robust nature of chemical substances with the enzyme’s selectivity, speed.
