Pre-conference tour:

Providing that there will be a sufficient interest, a pre-conference excursion to Kraków  - one of the most beautiful Polish towns, full of historical monuments - and famous Wieliczka salt mines (founded in 11th century!) will be organized. The participants should arrive in Kraków on Friday, May 12th, evening or Saturday, May 13th, morning. They will visit Kraków on Saturday and Wieliczka salt mines on Sunday, on their way to Ustron. Accommodation in a tourist-class hotel in Kraków and the bus transportation to Wieliczka and Ustron will be provided. The excursion will be guided by a professional English-speaking guide. More details will be available later.

Get-together party

Sunday, May 14th, 19:00 - 22:00 Plenty of beer, some wine and something to eat. Free for all participants and accompanying persons.


Conference dinner

Monday, May 15th, 20:00 - 23:00 at the regional restaurant "Zbójnicka Chata". Cost: 120 PLN (about 30 euro) per person, to be paid at registration.


Leaving party

Wednesday, May 17th, 20:00 - 23:00 Plenty of beer, some wine and something to eat. Free for all participants and accompanying persons.


Mountain walk

If the weather permits there will be organized a short ( 2 - 2.5 hours) walk in the surrounding hills. It will be not very difficult (5 kilometers total length, about 200 meters up and down) but good shoes are strongly recommended.


Post-conference tour - cancelled due to insuffient number of participants

Providing that there will be a sufficient interest, a post-conference tour to Szczyrk and Pszczyna through a picturesque road in Beskidy Mountains will be organized. The excursion will start on Thursday, May 18th, morning from the conference site in Ustron. The bus will take the participants through a Salmopol pass (nice views!) to the ski-resort Szczyrk. If weather permits, a short tour to the Skrzyczne mountain top by a chair-lift will be arranged. Then the participants will visit a Castle Museum in Pszczyna. The tour will end up in Katowice railway station or international airport. More details will be available later.
